How to Find Peace with God
God truly loves you. He wants you to experience a life full of peace, purpose, and joy—both now and forever.
The Bible says that God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, so that anyone who believes in Him will not be lost but have eternal life (John 3:16).
So, why don’t most people feel that peace or live the life God intended?
1. The Problem: We're Separated from God
When God made us, He gave us freedom—the ability to choose. He didn’t want us to be forced to love or follow Him. Unfortunately, we often choose our own way instead of His. That’s what the Bible calls sin.
Sin creates distance between us and God.
The Bible says everyone has sinned, and no one measures up to God’s perfect standard (Romans 3:23).
No matter how hard we try to fix things—by being good, kind, or religious—it’s not enough to close that gap.
2. Our Attempts Can’t Reach God
People try all kinds of ways to connect with God—through religion, good works, or personal efforts—but none of them work.
The Bible says our wrong choices have separated us from God (Isaiah 59:2).
So what’s the answer?
3. The Solution: Jesus and the Cross
God made a way to bring us back to Him—and that way is Jesus.
Jesus came into the world, died on a cross to take the punishment for our sins, and rose again to life. That act built a bridge back to God.
The Bible says that even though we were still doing wrong, God showed His great love for us—Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
Jesus is the only way to God. But we each have to make a personal decision to accept what He did.
4. What Should You Do?
To have a relationship with God, you need to say yes to Jesus.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Admit that you’ve done wrong and need forgiveness.
- Decide to turn away from your sin—that's called repentance.
- Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you.
- Invite Him into your life. Let Him lead you and guide your future.
5. Want to talk to God right now?
You can pray something like this:
God, I know I’ve messed up, and I need Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus is Your Son. I believe He died for me and rose again. I want to leave my old ways behind and follow You. Please come into my life, be my Lord and Savior, and help me live for You from this day on. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
